Who can play?

  • All ages and skill levels welcome, from Under 6’s right through to Over 45’s. We also have female-only teams and our “Rockerballers” program for children with special needs.
  • Children must be turning 5 this year to start playing.

What age group do I play in?
  • Each player’s correct playing age group is determined by the age you turn this year i.e. if you turn 6 this year you play in Under 6s, if you turn 14 this year you play in Under 14s etc (children turning 5 this year will play in the Under 6 age group).
  • If a player wants to play in the next age group up, they must select the higher age group when registering. Playing in the age group above is possible but it is subject to Committee approval.

What do I need to play?
  • Shin pads and soccer boots for all grading and training sessions, trial matches and competition games.
  • Club socks and club shorts for all trial matches and competition games. Club socks and shorts will be available for purchase at the Clubhouse on the Club Information Day.
  • Club jerseys for all trial matches and competition games. Please note: club jerseys are on loan only and remain the property of the club. Jerseys will be issued by the Team Manager.

When does the season start and finish?
  • There are mandatory grading sessions for the Under 8s to Under 16s age groups during February and trial matches for some age groups during March.
  • The competition season runs from early April until mid-August – exact dates will be confirmed by Hills Football. For Under 12s ages up, there are then 3 weeks of Finals for teams that finish in the top 4 of their competition.

How are teams formed?
  • The Under 6s & 7s players are placed into teams with their friends at the Team Formation afternoon – the date and time will be listed on our website.
  • Mandatory grading sessions are held for the Under 8s to Under 16s and teams will be announced once the grading results have been collated.
  • Grading dates/times and Team Announcement dates/times will be listed on our website.

Who will by my coach or manager?
  • Coaches and managers are sourced from within the parent/player group. Teams will be asked to organise a coach and manager once teams are formed.

When is training?
  • Under 6s & Under 7s age groups – most teams elect to not have a mid-week training session. More information will be provided at the Team Formation afternoon. There is a mandatory fun skills session for both age groups on Saturday mornings before their games.
  • Under 8s to Under 17s age groups – training days and times will be determined at the team formation amongst each team’s parent group.

When / where are the games played?
  • Under 6 age group (boys and girls) play in-house Small Sided Football (SSF) at Murray Farm Reserve on Saturday mornings usually sometime between 8:00am and 10:30am.
  • Under 7 age group (boys and girls) play in-house Small Sided Football (SSF) at Murray Farm Reserve on Saturday mornings usually sometime between 10:00am and 1:00pm.
  • Mixed 8s to 12s age groups (boys and girls) play SSF games against other Hills Football clubs primarily on Saturdays on a home & away basis, probably (but not guaranteed) in the morning.
  • Under 13s to Over 45s (Mixed up to 16s) play full competition games against other Hills Football clubs primarily on Saturdays.
  • Female only teams (Under 9s, 11s, 12s, 14s, 16s, 18s, 21s & AAL) play against other Hills Football clubs on Sundays and Over 35 Ladies play on Friday nights.

How do I register?
  • All registrations must be entered and paid for online by the player/parent on the PlayFootball website, please follow the registration instruction shown on our website.
  • An ID photo that meets normal passport photo guidelines must be uploaded during the online registration process.
    • No hats, glasses or sunglasses to be worn
    • Head shot only in front of a plain white background
    • Smiling in the photo is allowed J
    • Registrations will not be approved until a suitable photo is uploaded

How do I provide proof of the player’s date of birth?
  • All NEW players are required to come to the clubhouse on Saturday 30th January between 9am and 4pm with the player’s original birth certificate, passport or driver’s licence.

How much does it cost to register?

  • An Early Bird discount of $30.00 per player will be automatically deducted from the above fees if you register ONLINE on or before 31st January.
  • The NSW Active Kids Voucher of $100 can also be used during the online registration process. 

Are there any other costs?
  • Yes, every new player must purchase the club shorts ($20) and club socks ($10) on Saturday 30th January between 9am and 4pm.
  • Every player must wear shin pads and soccer boots for grading sessions, trial matches and competition games. Shin pads can be purchased from the club or any sports store.

How can I pay?
  • By Visa or Mastercard online.
  • EFTPOS and Cash is accepted at the clubhouse for the purchase of socks and shorts.

Where is the clubhouse?
  • North Rocks Park, North Rocks Rd, Carlingford (between Lanceley Ave & Farnell Ave).
  • The clubhouse will be open on the Information Day (Saturday 30th January from 9am to 4pm).
  • It is not open at any other time unless published on our website.
